Emily Penrose has a degree in History from the University of Utah with an emphasis on historical fiction writing and the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. She has worked with the Deaf Community since 2015 and been a student of ASL since 2005.

In her spare time, she enjoys creating and collecting Japanese kimono.
